About Activity

At ‘Sabo Fuwari‘, which opened in October 2022 by the long-established Japanese confectionery shop ‘Shokindo‘, which was founded in 2015 and has been in business for 156 years, you can rent out an elegant Japanese sweets making experience in a stylish store based on white. You can enjoy delicious matcha and original sweets. First, choose your favorite theme from the fresh sweets that change with the season, and enjoy the ‘Nerikiri experience‘. Even if it‘s your first time to touch namagashi, the staff will kindly and carefully give you a lecture, so you can enjoy making Japanese sweets without being nervous. After the Nerikiri experience, enjoy your handcrafted sweets with delicious matcha. Eating Japanese sweets with authentic Urasenke-style matcha will be the best luxury time together with making yourself. Lastly, enjoy cold tea and original sweets made only for the participants of the experience, “Otome no Yukigoromo”, which is made by wrapping Shokindo’s representative product “Awayuki” in baked sweets baked on the spot! If you ask questions about the etiquette of matcha tea, the history and culture of Shimonoseki and Shokindo, etc., Mr. Nishihara will teach you various things in a friendly and fun way. While feeling the history of a long-established local Japanese confectionery shop, enjoy freshly made Japanese sweets in a private space... Please enjoy such a luxurious hour.
