Godai Rikison Ninno-e festival
This traditional rite is held every year on February 23, and is affectionately called Godai Riki-san. The rite has over 1,000 years of history, as participants take on strength as an incarnation of Fudo Myo-O, one of the 5 Great Kings of Buddhism, in an appeal for peace and prosperity for the nation and people. Every year more than 100,000 people from all over Japan gather for this, Daigoji Temple's biggest event.
