Hinokuni Matsuri
A huge event and summer tradition in the city of Kumamoto. Each year great numbers of people come to attend. The main event is the Otemoyan So-odori dance, in which over 5,000 people dance through the city to the rhythms of the traditional Otemoyan folk song re-arranged as a Samba. There are also music and dance performances, fairs, and much more.
