Event
A festival held to celebrate the harvest moon and bountiful harvests in Nagasaki's Chinatown on mid-autumn according to the old lunar calendar when the moon is at its fullest and brightest. The highlight of the festival is the decoration of the Chinatown with some 1,000 yellow paper lanterns resembling the moon, creating a truly magical scene. A figure of Gekka Rojin, a god famous for aiding love and matchmaking, is erected in Minato Park, and countless stalls and stands create an exotic atmosphere for visitors to enjoy.
