Nagahama Castle's Hou Park

Event
This historic park was created in 1909 at the site of Nagahama Castle, the former residence of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. About 600 cherry trees, mainly of the Yoshino variety, are planted around the park. They are gorgeous when they blossom around Nagahama Castle’s main tower, and the park has been selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots. Every year during flowering season, the blossoms are lit up in the evening, creating a fantastic atmosphere for visitors to enjoy.
