Mitsuike Park (県立三ツ池公園)
Mitsuike Park is a multi-function park—with three ponds, sporting facilities, a plaza, etc.—that is located in the Tsurumi Ward of Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. The Park is a very popular spot for viewing cherry blossom, and has been selected for inclusion in Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots; the best time to see the cherry blossom is from late March to early April. In total, there are around 1,600 cherry trees in the Park, belonging to 78 different varieties, including Kanzakura (which starts to flower early, in mid-February), Yoshino cherry and Oshima-zakura cherry, as well as less common varieties such as Yokohama-hizakura cherry and Fugenso. Toilets, shops, and parking available (please note that there is a charge for parking between March 16 and November 15 each year).

Kanagawa Areas

Kanagawa prefecture acts as an extension of the Tokyo metropolis that spills over into coastal towns, most notably Yokohama city, heavily populated and known for its Chinatown and seaside attractions. Just the right distance for a day trip out of Tokyo, Kanagawa is home to some of Tokyo's most accessible beaches, including around Kamakura, best known for its Big Buddha. Visitors can also travel a little farther afield for a weekend at Hakone onsen town.
