Karuizawa Prince Hotel
Most people see Karuizawa as a summer resort destination, but it is also gaining attention as a place for viewing fall foliage which engenders a completely different atmosphere from Karuizawa in hotter seasons. Japanese maples, dodan azaleas, Japanese zelkovas, and other trees and plants grow on the spacious grounds of the Karuizawa Prince hotel, and in fall their leaves dazzle in the crisp autumnal alpine air. The hotel is also conveniently accessible from Karuizawa Station and visitors are recommended to walk from the Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza. Due to Karuizawa's high altitude, visitors can enjoy autumn colors earlier than in lowland cities.
