Lake Arimine (Arimine Dam)
Selected as one of Japan's 100 most beautiful dam lakes, Lake Arimine is located at the foot of Mt. Yakushi. There's a walking path along the lakeshore, an observatory, and even a barbecue facility. In autumn, the mountain is dyed red and gold with the leaves of beech trees, Japanese larches, and maples, coloring the still lake surface in turn. In the Arimine Forest Culture Village visitor's center, you can learn about the history and culture of the area and receive information on walking trails, making it a great place to stop by before enjoying the fall foliage.
