Ishiyama-dera Temple

A Buddhist temple located in Otsu City which has many National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties. Also widely known as a renowned destination for fall foliage, in autumn some 2,000 trees on its grounds dye the temple vivid reds and yellows. In November, the Atara Night Maple event is held in which the temple's maple trees are lit up after dark, providing visitors with enchanting scenery differing from that of the daytime.
