Haboro Onsen
This hot spring, located on the grounds of Roadside Station Hot Haboro in Hokkaido, is owned and operated by Haboro Onsen Sunset Plaza, a hotel which also has its own souvenir store and restaurants. The waters of the sodium chloride high saline spring are said to treat such ailments as nerve pain, joint pain, muscle soreness, women's diseases, skin diseases, and sensitivity to cold. The hotel's bathing facilities are open to non-guests as well. Haboro Town is known for its beautiful sunsets on the Sea of Japan, and there are an abundance of sightseeing destinations where visitors can come in contact with local history and culture, such as the Haboro Rose Garden, the Asahi Park Japanese iris garden, the Hokkaido Seabird Center, and the site of the former Haboro Coal Mine. The magnificent beauty and vast vistas of the islands of Teuri and Yagishiri are also located a one hour ferry boat ride away (35 minutes by express boat).
