This day-use hot spring bathhouse, a 30-minute drive from the Kokonoe Interchange on the Oita Expressway, is located in Chojabaru in the center of the Handa Highland. Situated on the second floor of a rest stop on the side of the Yamanami Highway, the windows of the bathhouse' bathing rooms offer a sweeping view of the Kuju Mountain Range. The bathhouse' baths are supplied with free-flowing water straight from a Chojabaru Onsen hot spring. The bathhouse is located near the starting point of trails leading up Mt. Kuju, Mt. Mitsumata, Mt. Taisen, and other mountains in the Kuju Mountain Range, and during climbing season it bustles with climbers. There's a restaurant on the first floor, and the chicken tempura combo meal and dangojiru dumpling soup combo meal are particularly popular. In addition, there is a free footbath outside.

久住連山への玄関口

広大な駐車場があり、久住連山への玄関口となる九重登山口があります。坊ガツル経由で久住山や大船山、ピンクのミヤマキリシマの奇麗な平治岳などの便利な登山口となっています。1階は食事処となっていて、2階は温泉大浴場となっています。下山後に汗を流すととても気持ちいいです。

やまなみハイウエイ沿線は、おいしいソフトクレームが一杯あるのですが、ここのソフトも一押しです。2F には温泉があるのですが、まだ入った事がないので、次回は是非入りたいと思っています。
郷土料理とり天がオススメ

週末は登山のお客やツーリングの方も多く利用されていて、大変混んでました。とり天はボリューム満点でジューシーで美味しかったです。眺めも良く、タデ原湿原を散策したりと、ゆっくり過ごすにもオススメだと思います。
