This curry restaurant, a 15-minute drive from the Ajimu Interchange on the Higashikyushu Expressway (Usa-Beppu Road), operates out of a mountain cabin-style building situated in the middle of the woods. The restaurant serves authentic, spicy Indian curry made with a curry sauce created from onions slowly sauteed until they turn transparent, tomatoes, and spices. The Pokara Curry Set meal is particularly recommended and comes with salad, chapatti, turmeric rice, a drink, and your choice of one of seven curry varieties, including chicken, vegetable, keema, and masala chicken. Inside, the restaurant also sells Asian knickknacks.
