Awaji Sunset Line

Prefectural Route 31 is a road that runs along the west coastline of Awaji Island. The section that connects Matsuhonoura Bay in Awaji City with Keino Matsubara Beach in Minamiawaji City is nicknamed Awaji Sunset Line. As the name suggests, visitors can view the beautiful sight of the sun setting over the Harima-nada Sea in the early evening, making it a popular course for a drive. Points of interest along the route include the Esaki Lighthouse, a large stone lighthouse, as well as the Taganohama Beach, a bustling destination for sea swimming in the summer.
