Daibutsu-ya
This souvenir shop is located right next to the Asuka-dera Temple, Japan's oldest Buddhist temple. The shop carries unique Nara souvenirs as well as exquisite articles you can only find in Asuka Village, such as Asuka no So, an ancient variety of cheese made by concentrating milk via a distinctive method. The shop's seasonal vegetables and fruits, homemade onigiri rice balls, and Japanese tsukemono pickles are also recommended.
