"This Japanese confectionery shop is located a five-minute walk from JR Hachioji Station. The green awning in the middle of Nishi-Hoshasen U-Road marks this shop selling Hachioji's specialty ""miyako manju"" sweet buns. This kind of manju, also depicted on the shop's sign, is a famous confectionery in Hachioji featuring the burnt-in marks of a cute character and of the logo to commemorate the centennial of the city. These manju are appreciated for their delicate taste coming from simple ingredients, such as sweet white bean paste, flour, eggs and sugar. It is loved by everyone from children to adults as the soul food of Hachioji."

八王子駅北口の放射線ロードを進むと、昭和な雰囲気をそこだけ残すおまんじゅう屋さんがあります。大判焼き（回転焼き）がとても小さくなったおまんじゅうです。白あんが中に入っています。店頭で買うと出来立てほやほや熱々です。冷めてもおいしいでしょうが、出来立てを食べるのが良いでしょう。1個40円。ポリ袋も紙袋も有料です。おばあちゃんのやさしい接客が心地よかったです。
八王子と言えばこのお菓子

昔からある和菓子。小さいので食べやすく、甘過ぎない白餡です。トースターで少し焼いて食べるのが好き。お店では機械でおまんじゅうを作る様子が見えて楽しい。八王子では超有名店。凄く美味しいっていうより、凄く懐かしいホッとする味です。

買ってみた。一個が小さいので、２、３個食べるくらいがちょうど良い。味は、普通。和菓子なので、緑茶があれば良かった。
