Kashima Harvest
This tourist farm is located east of Hamamatsu Flower Park. Here visitors can enjoy strawberry picking from January through May, and melon picking from July to the end of August. The strawberries the farm grows are Akihime, perhaps Shizuoka's most well-known variety. Akihime strawberries are known for their lack of tartness, tender flesh, and long and narrow shape. All of the farm's choice berries are soil cultivated in greenhouses using rice husks, rice bran, and other organic fertilizers, ensuring they are safe and healthy to eat. Melon picking is reservation-only; participants can pick the melon they think looks the best and take it home with them to enjoy.
