Kawahachi
This restaurant specializing in eel dishes is located along Prefectural Route 16 south of a fallow field that blooms profusely with rape blossoms in the spring and sunflower in the summer. It offers a menu including unaju and unadon (broiled eel served on rice) as well as hitsumabushi (chopped broiled eel served on rice) and set meals. It even offers mini unadon sized just right for children and the elderly. The restaurant's specialty is its kakure unagi, which was named by the late Taira Hara, a well-known comic artist and a regular customer at the restaurant. This luxurious dish features two layers of broiled eel served over rice in a lacquered box. The restaurant also offers a la carte items such as sashimi and tempura and can even be used for banquets.
