"A large park in the Sentsu district of northeastern Izu Oshima. The camellia garden has about 3,200 cultivated and 5,000 wild Camellia japonica trees. It's adjacent to the Camellia Museum which provides a variety of camellia related information. The roughly 3.27 square kilometer grounds also have a greenhouse, a rest area, and a lookout. It was certified as an ""International Camellia Garden of Excellence,"" having met a strict set of criteria. Its expansive scale even lead the director of the British chapter of the International Camellia Society to declare it the ""Best in the world."""

1月の椿のシーズンに訪れました。中には様々な種類の椿の花が展示されており、種類による違いを分かりやすく知ることができます。また、隣には売店があり、お土産を購入することもできます。

椿は殆ど終盤に差し掛かってちょっと残念でしたが、資料館があったので、良かった！椿の時期なら、尚更良かったのですが？

2018年2月に行きました。椿祭りの季節でたくさんの種類の椿が飾ってあって楽しめました。椿と言えば真っ赤な椿しか知りませんでしたが、色とりどりの様々な形の椿があって素直に感心しました。お土産屋さんや軽食コーナーもあります。無料です。
