Sukumogawa Nature Sightseeing Trail
A sightseeing trail that connects the southern area of Lake Ashi with Motohakone following the Sukumogawa River. The route has a total length of nearly six kilometers and intersects with the Old Tokaido Road and the Old Hakone Road. The path is well maintained and rich in a wide variety of different scenery including log bridges, suspension bridges, sections paved with cobblestones, mountain streams, and more. Along the path you'll also come across a number of highlights including the Hakone Packhorse Driver's Song Monument inscribed with the lyrics to the song they'd sing as they crossed the Hakone pass and Saunji Temple, a temple with a history associated with vengeance.
