Senbutsujo

Temple
"This structure is located on the grounds of the Engakuji temple in Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture. This hall's name carries both the meaning of a Zen meditation dojo and ""the place chosen by Buddha,"" and ascetic monks engage in zazen meditation here. In 1699, Matsudaira Tadamitsu, lord of Ise Nagashima Castle, built the structure to serve as a meditation hall and a place to store the Tripitaka on the recommendation of Issui Sekishu, chief priest of the Tokuunji Temple and Gekkeiji Temple in Edo. The building has a thatched roof and enshrines statues of Bhaisajyaguru and Kannon; the building also served as the temple's Butsuden (main temple) while the real one was being rebuilt. Visitors may freely view the interior."
