Mikasa Park
"This municipal history park, located a 15-minute walk from Keikyu Yokosuka-chuo Station, faces Yokosuka New Port and was designed based on the theme of ""water, light, and sound."" One of Yokosuka's top parks, it was selected for inclusion in the 100 Best Historical Parks in Japan list and the Japan's 100 Best City Parks list. Visitors can enjoy such park facilities as a water fountain which shoots jets of water in time with music, a wall fountain, and 18-meter-tall monument, and a murmuring river running through the grounds. The Mikasa, a battleship used during the Russo-Japanese War, is preserved as a memorial at the wharf in the park, and visitors can view historical artefacts from the time it was in service inside the vessel."

- Run and play
- Great place to run and play on a sunny day. Beautiful park, explore the ship, burn off energy, enjoy the waterfront.
-
- Everything was closed!
- We heard great things about the water and light show at Mikasa park, but every night for 3 days it was closed! No notice to the public either. Very saddening.
-
- Great water features
- This is a great park to visit. There are many sculptures and water features both in the park and leading up to the park. There is a water fountain show to music every couple of hours- and at night...
