Daimyoji Keikoku Park
This hydrophilic park was created along the Korida River, a tributary of the Amori River, a 20-minute drive from JR Kokubu Station. The stone slabs which make up the riverbed in the park are the result of lava and other volcanic products cooling, hardening, and then being eroded by the river over countless years. A portion of the revetment along the river is stair-shaped to allow easy access to the river, and surrounding park facilities include walking paths, a square, and toilets. The river is shallow, ensuring even small children can play in its waters in safety. In the summer, the park is caressed by cool breezes, and visitors are encouraged to take a walk here while listening to the murmur of the river and the songs of birds.
