Ashikari Onsen

This hot spring bathhouse is famous for the skin beautifying properties of its spring water. Guests can enjoy the verdant garden-style outdoor baths while feeling the seasonal winds. In addition to cleanly indoor baths, the bathhouse also features functional baths including whirlpool and electric baths as well as elaborate outdoor baths. All of the water used in the bathhouse from the soaking baths and the rinsing baths to the showers and the faucets is free-flowing sodium bicarbonate spring water straight from the source. The clear and colorless hydrogen carbonate spring water is popular for softening the skin and leaving it feeling silky-smooth. At the attached restaurant, guests can enjoy seasonal dishes that change every month, keihan (a chicken rice dish from Kagoshima's Amami Islands), handmade soba noodles, a variety of set meals, and more.
