This Japanese confectionary shop was established in 1940. The shop continues to make Japanese confections by hand with fastidious attention to flavor. For its sweet azuki beans, the shop only uses azuki from Hokkaido, and its azuki bean paste, diligently cooked each morning at 6 a.m., is characterized by an elegant, orchid color. The shop's Takemitsuko is a crispy yet soft cookie sandwich inspired by the history of Kikuchi which is filled with apricot jam and garnished with crunchy almonds. The tasty confection was awarded the Minister's Award at the National Confectionary Exposition.

抹茶ソフト最高！美味しすぎる❤️色んな人に知って欲しい。抹茶嫌いな人でも、食べれた！好き！という人沢山います。ぜひ食べてみてください！アイスの表示(看板？)はすこし見えにくいかもしれません。

数日前菊池探検中の観光客として初来店しました。冷やかしのつもりでコンニチワしたところ、想定外の湯茶サービス。せごどんブッセと日本茶をごちそう様。なんでせごどん？と不思議でしたが、西郷隆盛（せごどん）が菊池一族出身という有力な説があると伺ってガッテン。ゴチのお礼といってはアレですが、和菓子や洋菓子6品（メロンブッセ、松風、武光公など）を持ち帰りました。旅から帰って少しずつ賞味中ですが、普通に美味！
