Kashin Fumido

Japanese Confectionery
This is located about a ten-minute drive from the Nanki Tanabe Interchange on the Hanwa Expressway via Prefectural Route 208. It is a venerable shop that has specialized in creating confections imbued with the spirit of Kisei Tanabe since 1905. In 2002, the shop's exquisite Kamishima no Tsuru, made of chestnuts wrapped in smooth red bean paste and white bean with egg yolk paste and then coated with soft marshmallow dough, won the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Award at a national contest. Other recommended items are those made with Binchotan charcoal, such as the White Charcoal Cookie, made with finely ground Binchotan charcoal and black sesame.
