Wakasa Mikata Jomon Museum
A park located along National Route 162 in Torihama, Wakasa Town, Mikatakaminaka County. The park is on the shore of Lake Mikata and within you'll find sites such as the Jomon plaza where a classic pit dwelling has been recreated. In the Wakasa Mikata Jomon Museum, also located within the park, they have archeological materials on display dating back to the Jomon period including artifacts excavated from the Torihama Shell Mound.

- 縄文遺跡から発掘された沢山の土器類が展示されており、日本の有史以前の様子を垣間見ることが出来ます。個人的には隣の年縞博物館の方がより面白かったので、セット券で行くべきと思います。

- 若狭町の鳥塚貝塚からの出土品を中心に、縄文文化をテーマにした博物館です。歴史のロマンを感じることが出来る博物館でした。別に考古学ファンと云う訳でもありませんが、学者が好き勝手に推測して検証の仕様がないことを良いことにして、自説を声高に吹聴している「推論」じゃなくて、実際の「遺物」を目の前にしているだけに学者や研究者、学芸員等の100万言よりも真実味がある良い施設でした。
