Ajimano Cherry Tree
A famous cherry tree in Ikeizumi-cho, Echizen City. The large Edohigan (double weeping rosebud) cherry tree is over 140 years old and is planted on the grounds of the Echizen City Ajimano Elementary School. The tree is illuminated at night when in bloom for evening flower viewings. It has been designated a Natural Monument of the city. Being located on school grounds there are restrictions for visiting including not being able to visit during class hours.
