Oihara-An
This shop serves Shirakawa soba, considered one of Japan's four major styles along with Shinshu, Izumo, and Morioka. The shop grows its own buckwheat native to the Oihara district, a nature-embraced highland about 500 meters above sea level, which it then grinds itself for freshly grind, freshly making, and freshly boiling soba. The shop faces the Abukuma River, and is perfect for spending some quiet rural moments as you enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. They are popular for their focus on additive-free, aromatic soba with natural sweetness. Inside, they also sell their select soba flour and fresh soba noodle (by reservation), as well as buckwheat chaff pillows.
