Shinanoya Confectionery

Japanese Confectionery
"This confectioner is located in Bandai-Atami Hot Spring town, called the ""retreat of Koriyama."" It's about an eight-minute walk from Bandai-Atami Station, and the shop is filled with a good old-fashioned Showa atmosphere where they offer handmade, additive-free daifuku mochi treats. They use Fukushima-grown adzuki beans to offer an elegant sweetness in daifuku marked by their soft, fluffy texture. It offers up fresh-made mochi that's not too loose or too firmly compacted. They offer standard coarse-crushed tsubuan bean paste and smooth koshian paste, as well as whole-bean filling, and minced green soybean paste for a full selection that often sells out by noon."
