黒部渓谷鉄道にのって、宇奈月から欅平まで往復しました。黒部渓谷にそって最初にあらわれるダム。コンクリート造りの大きなダムです。
峡谷鉄道沿線最初のダム

宇奈月駅からトロッコ電車に乗り、黒部川にかかる新山彦橋を渡ってトンネルを出ると右手にあります。沿線で一番最初に遭遇するダムです。ここで堰き止められて出来た湖が、「うなづき湖」だそうです。ここは発電目的というよりは、温泉街の治水対策として作られたそうです。
トロッコから眺める

宇奈月温泉街のすぐ上流にあるダムで、竣工は2000年、堤高は97メートルと巨大です。トロッコ列車の車窓から見ることができました。時間があれば宇奈月ダム情報資料館に行きたかったのですが、今回は遠くから眺めただけです。
