Hatanagi-I Dam

Dams
This dam in Aoi Ward, Shizuoka City is a rare type of Hollow Gravity Concrete Dam and is the largest of its kind in Japan, standing at 125 meters. Along with the Hatanagi Dam #2 downstream, they use the water to generate power with a power generation facility inside and a substation facility outside. It also serves as a trailhead for those climbing Mt. Akaishi and the Southern Japan Alps, and is busy with tourists during the autumn leaves.
