Horaijisan Natural Science Museum

A natural science museum opened in 1963. Here visitors can view exhibits which present the plant life, animal life, and minerals found on Mt. Horaiji. In the museum shop, you can purchase rock specimens and original merchandise. Frequented particularly by local families and children, the museum regularly holds outdoor study meets and geo tours.

鳳来寺山は国の天然記念物なので、動植物や地質などとても貴重なところです。ここの標本などで勉強してから鳳来寺山に登ると感動も増しますよ。

参道の途中にあり鳳来寺山の成り立ちや岩石などが分かりやすく展示してあります。また鳳来寺山に生息しているコノハズクの声が聴けるので、登山中に探してみるのも良いと思います。

鳳来寺を表参道側から登る場合の途中にあります。まだ車で行ける場所で駐車場もありますが、バス停からここまでの道はとても狭いです。鳳来山の成り立ちや、この山の動植物や石などが展示されています。入場料は２１０円です。
