Shinjyu no Sato Pearl Factory (Yamamoto Suisan Co., Ltd.)

4.5

Experience Hall / Accommodation Experience (Training) Facility

This pearl farm is located in the birthplace of pearls, Ise Shima. It is operated by Yamamoto Suisan Co., Ltd., which has been in business for 60 years in Ago Bay. You can experience removing pearls by taking them out of pearl oysters, and then take them home as they are or make original accessories. In addition, it is possible to fry and barbecue the fresh ingredients right away from a pleasure boat that floats on the ocean, or enjoy all-you-can-eat oysters limited to one group per day on that the same pleasure boat from January to May.

Spread across the eastern side of the Kii Peninsula, Mie prefecture boasts hundreds of kilometers of pretty coastline comprising the oyster-rich Toba city and Shima National Park all the way down to Kumano, a city that marks the beginning of part of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage, which runs into neighboring Wakayama prefecture. However, Mie is best known for the Ise Jingu Shinto shrine inland, one of the oldest and largest shrines in the country.
