Iwasehama Beach

Beach
This beach a five-minute walk from Iwasehama Station can be accessed by light rail. The beautiful Koshi no Matsubara pine grove, selected as one of Japan's best seaside pine groves, fills the view of people on the beach. The beach also offers magnificent views of the distant mountains of Kurobe. Popular for activities such as surf fishing, the beach is beloved by the young and by families and becomes crowded with beachgoers as soon as the summer excursion season begins. Located nearby is Toyama Port, known as the ocean entrance to Toyama City, as well as the historic townscapes of Iwase, which prospered due to the Kitamaebune merchant ships of the Edo period.
