Himi Seaside Botanical Garden

This botanical garden located at Matsudae no Nagahama is a 15-minute walk from JR Himi Line Shimao Station. It raises some 300 varieties of plant, including beach plant?s from all across Japan. In their greenhouse, visitors can view tropical plants such as palm trees and hibiscus, as well as the sago palm, often called a living fossil. Visitors can also enjoy viewing the plants while taking a relaxing walk on the beach promenade. The glass-walled scenic restaurant on the fourth floor is famous for its delicious Italian cuisine and its great views of Toyama Bay. It is a popular spot for families.

景色が良い植物園です。晴れた日はとても眺望が良いので、ぜひお勧めです。あまり混んでないところもポイントです。

雨晴海岸を見た後、島尾海岸付近をぶらぶらドライブしました。ふと目に飛び込んできたソテツと鉄筋の建物。裏手にある駐車場側に廻ると温室栽培されている植物がちらっと見えました。入場料は２００円であまり込み合う様子もありませんでした。順路に従って進むと、大規模ではありませんが熱帯性植物が見られます。バナナ、コーヒーの木、パイナップル、スターフルーツなど、こんな風に生育するのかと思いました。立ち寄ったのが１...
