Roadside Station Suzu Enden Mura (Oku-Noto Salt Farm Village)
"This is a salt museum in Oku-Noto, where visitors can also experience salt making. Noto Peninsula is deeply connected to salt and many sites of salt manufacturers have been discovered here. It is the only salt field in Japan that continues to manufacture salt maintaining the tradition of ""Agehama-style salt making"", a national important folk cultural property, which has been handed down for more than 400 years. In the facility you can view a georama as well as exhibits showing the history of salt-making and the relationship between people and salt. Visitors have the opportunity of experiencing salt-making and taking home salt they make themselves (reservations required). Also, the shop sells Oku-Noto Agehama beach salt and natural bittern."
