Asuwa-jinja Shrine

With a deep faith and history spanning over 1,500 years since its founding, the Asuwa-jinja Shrine—named for the ancestor deity of Echizen—venerates Emperor Keitai as the main deity, with other deities worshipped here as well. On the grounds you’ll find takao maples and weeping cherry trees which were designated as Natural Monuments in 1970. They are best viewed in mid November and around April 10th respectively, when many visitors enjoy them.

引き続き散歩です。足羽川を越えて笏谷石で建造された「愛宕坂」から入ります。ところどころ残る雪に気を付けつつ緩やかな石段を経由、大ぶりな枝垂桜が枝を広げる広場をやや進んで拝殿に到達します。100m強の低山の中腹あたりですから大した高さはありませんが、途中急斜面の北東側に広がる福井市中心街の夜景は見どころです。

土曜日の午前中に参拝。丘の上にあり道は狭いが、駐車場は広い。御祭神は、「継体天皇」「生井神」「福井神」「綱長井神」「阿須波神」「波比岐神」。蘇我家の地盤となるところ。出雲系の家との繋がりを感じた。千木は縦削ぎ。井戸の三神は、出雲の八千矛王と八上姫の言い伝えがある御井神社でも祀られている。神紋は三光。太陽と月と星を意味する。いろんな一族の融和を意味するような感じがした。ぱっと見は、笑顔の...
継体天皇をお祀りする神社

創建年代は不詳ですが、社伝によると、継体天皇が足羽の地に、大宮地之霊を祀ったのが起源とされている式内社です。継体天皇と大宮地之霊を主祭神としてお祀りする福井県最古の神社です。春には見事なしだれ桜が咲きます。御神紋は太陽、月、北極星の文様を組み合わせた三光の紋という珍しい御紋です。
