Myoko Sasagamine Campground

This auto camping site in the 1,300 meter-high Sasagamine Highlands is about a 40-minute drive from Myoko-Kogen Interchange. Open from July to September, its 3,000-person capacity makes it one of Japan's largest auto camping sites. Average temperatures ranging around 25 degrees centigrade even in the middle of summer make it perfect for camping. Three types of campsites are available. Campsites at Auto Site A are conveniently equipped with AC power sources. Auto Site B is popular for its roomy 100 square-meter campsites. At the Free Site, campers are free to set up their campsite as they choose. The campground is also fully equipped with cooking and barbequing areas. It even offers an empty-handed camping pack that includes everything you need to go camping.

火打山登山口から近いので前泊で利用しました。芝生の平地が多くテントは張りやすかった。管理事務所内に水洗トイレがあって24時間利用できました。夜中の星空が印象的でした。
標高1300㍍、星がきれいです。

夏休みの３連休の初日ということもあり、フリーサイトでオートサイト共に大変混んでいました。オートサイトは車にテントにタープにおいても、ゆとりのある広さで快適に過ごせました。近くには小川があり、とても冷たい水ですが川遊びができます。日差しは強いですが、日陰は風が吹いて涼しかったです。朝晩も寒いくらい。焚き火があったかくできました。そして何より、標高1300㍍。星がとてもきれいで、またみに行きたいです。

１０月中旬、紅葉が美しい時に、乙見湖までの散策のために訪問。キャンプ場の営業が９月までなので、土曜日にもかかわらず人はいませんでしたが、ベンチ等もあり、景色はとてもよかったです。
