Kamoyama Park
This large city park is near Aomi-jinja Shrine is just a five-minute walk from Kamo Station. You'd never think the city would have such a peaceful park but it stands over 15 hectares in size and is abundant with nature. Among the 1,300 plants covering almost 100 different types you'll find the snow camellia, which blooms in the spring at the same time as the cherry blossoms to the delight of visiting park-goers. There is also a sculpture forest with 16 different sculptures chosen from around the country and in the chipmunk garden you can meet some of the chipmunks that scurry about the park.
