A roadside station located in Kawamata Town, Date County, Fukushima Prefecture. Due to the town's famous silk products, the station is nicknamed Silk Pier. The station has a museum which introduces the history and culture of textiles in the area, and a store selling smoked Kawamata shamo chicken and other processed foods. You can also eat soft serve ice cream here made with mulberry powder and silk powder, local sweeteners produced in the area. In addition, the station has a facility where you can try using a hand loom and dying cloth which attracts many tourists.

それぞれは小さいが戸建ての施設群

市街地から福島市方面に進んだ場所にありました。小さいながらも施設の建物が全て独立した様式で、特産工芸品販売、農産物直場所、レストラン、工芸品展示館、トイレとそれぞれが敷地内に配置されていました。食べ物では軍鶏が推しのようで、レストランおよび直売所で関連製品を食べたり購入したりできます。なお、私が訪問した時点では、トイレの建屋が工事中でした。

道の駅自体は小さいですが、敷地内に農産物直売所やレストランがあり休憩にはちょうどよいです。川俣しゃもの卵や肉、鍋など、関連食品がたくさん売られていました。お店の中にはペッパーくんもいました。
くだものや野菜も手に入る

シルクピアノ建物に向かい合って、野菜などを販売する建物があります。地元産の果物や野菜が格安料金で販売されています。何かと珍しくてよいものが手に入るので、いつも寄るのを楽しみにしています。特に夏の桃がでる時期は見逃せません。
