The Kanaya Art Museum is located along the Uchibo-Nagisa Line in Kanaya, Futtsu City. The museum was opened in 2010 as part of the efforts to rejuvenate the town under the slogan of “Kanaya, the town of stone and art”. As well as various exhibitions on works donated by art lovers and loaned pieces of work, the museum also holds events like concerts, etc. Admission fees vary from exhibition to exhibition, but visitors can get tickets by participating in local activities such as clean-ups and grass cutting, etc. (booking required at least one day in advance).

友人の作品展があったので訪問です。金谷から鋸山美術館に名前を変更ということだけれども、まだ変更していません。なぜかと尋ねたら、ロゴがまだできていないんだとか・・・・こじんまりの美術館で、庭の作品もきれいです。

国道１２７号ガスト手前。金谷美術館は７月１４日から鋸山美術館に名前が変わります。企画展「鋸山アニマルワールド」は１０月１０日まで開催。連休初日もシッカリ休館。
町おこしで造られた美術館です

国道127号線沿い、金谷港の近くにある美術館で、外観はデザインに富んだ造りで、とても目立ちます。ここは町おこしで造られたそうで、寄贈品が中心のようです。周囲には観光できる場所がけして多くは無いので、行ってみると案外楽しいかもしれません。入場料は800円ですが、前売りで100円引きになります。
