Sadamisaki Lighthouse
This white lighthouse is located at the tip of the Sadamisaki Peninsula in Setonaikai National Park. This white lighthouse stands at the end of Satamisaki Peninsula, where it is said that it is the longest and most narrow peninsula in Japan. The lighthouse has been in operation for over 90 years since its first lighting in 1918. It is a scenic landmark where on clear days you can view Takashima and Kyushu in the distance across the Hoyo Straight. It is especially beautiful at sunset. In 1998 it was selected as one of the Japan Coast Guard’s top 50 lighthouses in the country. Although the walkway leading to the lighthouse is well maintained, it is long with a lot of ups and downs. Please be careful.
