This modern architecture museum can be found on Omishima Island, which is located along the Shimanami Kaido Expressway in Imabari City, Ehime Prefecture. In addition to exhibits featuring blueprints and other works handled by one of Japan’s most famous architects, Toyo Ito, there’s also a recreation of his former residence. Seemingly formed from several polyhedrons combined, the building itself is one of Ito’s creations, and with the Seto Inland Sea in the backdrop, it truly feels like a work of art. There’s also a workspace for researchers and students.

伊藤豊雄氏の名前を客寄せに使い、内容は町興し。内容と入場料が全く見合っていない。このギャップは展示されている方たちにもよくないと思う。更に受付の女性の対応が最悪。来場者に対して感謝のかけらもなく、当然帰る際にも全く声掛け無し。このような受付を雇用している開設者にも問題ありと思う。

建築設計をしており、２度目のしまなみで、今回一番の目的でしたが、伊藤豊雄さんの作品があるのかな、と思っていったのが、がっかりの理由です。主として大三島の歴史と案内などが展示されています。それはそれで意味があると思いますが、偉大な建築家のミュージアム、という命名は間違っていると思いました。違う名前を付けて欲しいです。また、他の方が感じたように、料金を支払う場所にいる女性の感じの悪さ！案内の仕方とい...

建築ミュージアムという名前なので、建築に関する展示があるのかと思い訪問しましたが、建築に関する展示はありませんでした。展示は”日本一うつくしい大三島を作ろうプロジェクト2016”という島おこしの活動に関する展示です。このミュージアムの入場料が800円でところミュージアム・母と子のミュージアムの入場料が300円、展示の内容からすると逆の様に感じました。
