Restaurant Takaraya
This long-standing restaurant celebrated its 85-year anniversary in 2016. It uses fresh fish obtained in the morning from the Shiogama Seafood market, and it uses special “Zaogyu” beef for its meat dishes. The focus on quality in its ingredients makes its menu options quite popular. In fact, its “anago rice bowl,” one of Matsushima’s famous dishes, routinely sells out in the morning. It’s about 15 minutes by car from the Matsushimakaigan Interchange on the Sanriku Expressway.
