This is a cafe in Imai-cho, Kashihara City. Before the store became a cafe it first opened as a thrift store in the Edo period and then became a sake brewery. It is a family home that has been passed on since the first half of the 18th century. This cafe serves soba buckwheat noodles and Machiya-zen (a set menu including soba noodles and rice cooked with seasonal vegetables), sweets such as red bean paste with mochi rice cakes, coffee and local sake.

今井町は見どころも多く、縦横無尽に歩き回る事になるので、待ちの中でゆっくりできるのは有り難いです。食事をして時間も間もなかったので、お酒だけいただきましたが、「○○なら、お燗はしないほうがおススメですよ」などアドバイスもいただいて、いいお店だなぁ-と思いました。
町家を利用した休み処

町の人に教えてもらい、昼食をとりました。江戸時代中期の町家を利用した休み処。昔の調度品が並び、雰囲気も良かったです。山菜そばと柿の葉寿司のセットも美味しかったです。

重要伝統的建造物群保存地区である今井町には、食事をとれるところや、お茶をいたただけるところがほとんどありません。また、食事がとれるところも、事前に予約が必要なところがあります。こちらのお店は今西家住宅の近くにあり、予約も不要です。町家を利用したお店で、店内のほか、庭で食事や喫茶ができます。ランチには柿の葉寿司とお蕎麦のセットなどを出されており、店内もくつろげる雰囲気です。
