Oyukake Benzaiten statue

Other Historic Site/Building
Oyukake Benzaiten is a statue of the goddess Benzaiten, located around two minutes’ walk from Izu-Atagawa Station. Benzaiten came to be worshipped here because many years ago Benzaiten appeared to the owner of the land where the statue is located in a dream and told him to dig in a certain place; on digging there, he discovered a hot spring. It is said that if you splash hot water from the spring on the statue while making a wish, your wish will come true.
