Shogetsudo Confectionary is a long-standing business, founded in the early Showa (1926–1989) period in the town of Hakone, Ashigarashimo County, Kanagawa Prefecture, and it is a well-known perennial favorite of the local residents. These tasty Japanese-style treats, made with carefully selected ingredients by methods unchanged since the founding of the shop, make popular souvenirs and gifts. The most famous product is Mount Kintoki Manju, a thin white dough jammed full of sweetened bean paste. It is named after a famous local historical person, Sakata Kintoki, who was the model for the folk hero Kintaro.

お饅頭が美味しいです。さっぱりとした餡子で甘いのが苦手な私でも大丈夫。値段も手ごろなのでお土産にはぴったりだと思います。

仙石原交差点からほど近いところにあります。75号線を南西方向に曲がると200ｍほどのところです。上用饅頭を購入しました。皮が山芋を使っているのでふっくらした厚めのもので、コシ餡はアッサリした甘さ控えめのものです。この他にも各種饅頭があるのですが、好評ですので、いつもこれを土産にしています。

もう、ずっとこの場所で営業されています。店構えも、品揃えも、昔なつかしい雰囲気ですが、自宅近所では、昔、町内に1つはあったと思われるこのような和菓子店がどんどん姿を消してしまっているので、とても、なつかしい気持ちになります。金太郎にちなんだきんとき饅頭が名物のようです。
