The public Yatsugatake Ranch is located along the Yatsugatake Kogen Line in Nishiide, Oizumi Town, and this park was created in one section of it. You can see goats and other animals grazing in the pasture, as well as enjoy specialty products made in the prefecture at the restaurant. There’s also a tent selling agricultural products, as well as mountain crop classes and carpentry classes offered at the community hall. An event called the “Makiba Walk” has participants do a circuit around the whole ranch.

To be honest Makiba Park is not really a park but a pull-off rest area from the road connecting Kobuchizawa down in the valley (with its highway exit and train terminal) with the local resort area...
遊歩道をぜんぶ回るととんでもなく広いことに驚くよ

清里側から手前の駐車場に車を停めて牧場内を歩いて牧場内を散策したところ、広くてビックリ。上の建物からの見晴らしも抜群。また観光牧場でないのでごちゃごちゃしてないところも好感が持てます。
散策するには良いところです

動物は可愛く、人に慣れていて触れあえて良かったです。散策するにはとても良い場所です。傾斜が多いので少し歩くのは大変でしたが、全体的には満足です。5月19日に行きましたが、他の観光客の真似をして悪口を言っている若い女性がいて、不快でした。聞こえないと思っていても意外と周りに聞こえているものなので、やめてほしいです。
