Takenobu Inari-jinja Shrine

Takenobu Inari-jinja Shrine is located a five-minute walk from Omiya Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Main Line in Kyoto's Nakagyo Ward. Uga-no-Mitamawa-no-Okami is the principal god enshrined there. Its fame as a shrine for everything having to do with names, from naming children to telling fortunes based on a person's name, draws many visitors from far and wide. In addition, girls and women who visit may enjoy paying to dress as and experience the life of a miko (shrine maiden) for a brief time.

It is a great place but it is hard to take photos without any people in it. Climbing the mountain is a good challenge and the view is fantastic up there.

石造りの鳥居の先に稲荷神社らしい朱塗りの鳥居が並んでいました。境内の社殿も朱塗りとなっており全体に鮮やかな感じとなっていました。因みに境内のエノキ大木が御神木とされ京都市指定天然記念物に指定されていました。

地方からの観光客(一行５名)のリクエストに応えて案内しただけであり自発的に参詣した訳ではありません。ここは平安初期の創始と伝承されている。境内の大木の榎は幕府に追われた龍馬がお龍に残した伝言の跡が残っています。幕末維新については幕府方、勤皇方に係わらず信奉出来る人間も皆無だし、興味のある人物も居ません。特に新選組と云う暗殺集団や坂本龍馬と云う人物にも一切の価値を見いだし得ないのでそれらには触れずに...
