Ota-jinja Shrine
This auxiliary shrine of Kamigamo Shrine is dedicated to goddess Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto. Inside are clusters of rabbit-ear iris, designated a national protected species, which bloom purple in the summer. It has scenery loved since the Heian period, and is a place where poet Fujiwara no Toshinari composed his work.
